The Town of Hebron has conducted and implemented the October 1, 2016 revaluation. As per §12-62 of the State Statutes, the values established during a revaluation are in place for five years, unless there are changes to the property. The Town will be scheduled to perform the next revaluation for October 1, 2021.
The Grand List has been finalized and filed with the Town Clerk, if you feel the value of your property is incorrect, you would need to file for a hearing with the Board of Assessment Appeals which is scheduled to meet in March 2017. To apply for a hearing, an application MUST be received in the Assessor’s office by the close of business on Tuesday February 21, 2017.
The new Computer Assisted Mass Appraisal (CAMA) system has been linked to the administrative system which links as well to the Revenue Collector for the billing system. We are currently in the process of linking the CAMA system to the GIS mapping system and the building department system.
The Grand List of assessments is the first part of the formula that determines the taxes. The amount of your tax bill will not be available until the Town has passed a budget and the Board of Finance sets a mill rate; this is typically done in April or May.
