The Collector of Revenue for the Town of Hebron, Adrian MacLean, reminds taxpayers 2nd half Real Estate taxes are due, the payment stub for January 2021 was included with the original bill due back in June. Motor Vehicle Supplemental bills were also being mailed separately. You may receive a Supplemental bill if you purchased a vehicle between October 1, 2019 and September 30, 2020. Bills are due without penalty by April 1, 2021.
Governor Lamont signed an order in December granting an extension similar to July. Payments typically having a deadline of February 1st will have a deadline of April 1, 2021. This means April 1st is the last day to pay or have your payment postmarked, beginning April 2nd interest will be added retroactively to January 1.
If you notice your payment hasn’t been processed I ask you give us a little time to catch up due to quarantining staff and large volume of mail. We will mail receipts for payments left in the Dropbox or if requested for payments received by mail. We are available by phone 860-228-5971 and email amaclean@hebronct.com.
Until further notice town hall is closed to the public we are asking your assistance to conduct business in a safe, contact-free manner. Most of our operations can be performed electronically. If you would like to pay your bill online using a credit/debit card or directly from your checking account, visit www.hebronct.com, the link is located by selecting Town Departments→Tax Collector→View & Pay Your Taxes. (fees apply) If you are unable to do so we are asking you place your payment in the Drop Box and that you make your payment with something other than cash. I know we find ourselves in difficult times and uncharted territory, by working together this too shall pass. Thank you for your cooperation!
If you believe you should have received a bill or need a copy, please contact our office at 860-228-5971 x146. Our office encourages any taxpayer to contact the office if you need to make payment arrangements, while we must abide by state statute we will make every effort to work with you.
The Tax Office and Assessor’s Office does close Monday – Thursday from 12:30 – 1:15 for lunch. The Revenue Department would like to wishes everyone a Happy and Safe New Year.
