Transportation

(Dial-a-Ride) Policy

Through the Russell Mercier Senior Center, transportation is coordinated for senior and adult
disabled individuals via two handicapped accessible vans and a town-owned car for medical care,
social trips, shopping, banking, or other needs.
Please call the Senior Center at 228-1700 to schedule transportation.

Weekly Shopping
The van leaves the Russell Mercier Senior Center each Friday at 10:00 a.m. to transport
individuals to the local banks, pharmacy, post office, and grocery stores and then out to lunch.
Each Month: The van alternates between shopping in Hebron and the Willimantic Wal-Mart.  Peridically, there will be a shopping trip to other locations.

Food Bank
The van leaves the Russell Mercier Senior Center every other Thursday at 9:15 a.m. to transport
qualifying individuals to the Hebron Interfaith Human Services Food Bank.
Please check the Hebron Senior Newsletter each month for applicable dates and call the Senior
Center at 228-1700 if you would like to go.

Medical Appointments
The van is available Monday through Friday 8:30AM to 3:45PM (unless the office is closed due to
inclement weather or a town holiday) to transport Hebron residents to medical appointments in
Hebron, Andover, Bolton, Colchester, Columbia, Glastonbury, Lebanon, Marlborough, Coventry, Cromwell, East Haddam, East Hampton, East Hartford, Haddam, Hartford, Manchester, Mansfield, Middletown, New Britain, Newington, Portland, Rocky Hill, Salem, South Windsor, Tolland, Vernon, West Hartford, Wethersfield, Windham, and UCONN Health Center.
