Happy New Year!
Supplemental Motor Vehicle and Real Estate (2nd Half, refer to the bill mailed in June 2019) taxes levied on the Grand List of October 1, 2018 become due and payable on January 1, 2020. Taxes received/postmarked by February 3, 2020 will be considered timely. Payments not received/postmarked by February 3, 2020 will be subject to interest of 1.5% per month or 18 % annually from the due date in accordance with Connecticut General Statutes. Initial interest starting February 4th is 3% of outstanding taxes with a minimum of $2.00 per tax bill. Please reach out if you believe you should have received a Supplemental Motor Vehicle Bill and have not. State Statute dictates that failure to receive a bill does not invalidate the tax or subsequent interest.
