SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICER

The Town of Hebron is currently accepting applications for a full-time School Resource Officer.  Minimum requirements include at least five (5) years of experience as a Connecticut POST Certified Officer or recently retired Officer or State Trooper (in good standing), valid Connecticut driver license, high school diploma or GED, and the ability to meet or exceed all entry exams including but not limited to written exam, oral exam, physical agility, extensive background investigation, psychological exam, polygraph exam, physical exam and a drug screen.   Please send your resume and Town of Hebron employment application to the attention of Andrew J. Emergency Medical Technician

Salary: $ 16.00/Hour
Schedule: Flexible, initially 00:00-08:00 weeknights
Status: Per Diem
Closing Date: 11/1/2021 close of business

This position’s primary responsibility is that of an EMT on the ambulance. In addition to covering ambulance duties, the Per-Diem EMT may have duties and chores around the stations, including but not limited to restocking of vehicles, checking equipment, washing and general cleaning around the stations, and other duties as assigned. The Per Diem EMT is responsible for the provision of pre-hospital patient care in accordance with all Federal, State, and Local Regulations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current State of Connecticut EMT Certification
  • AHA BLS CPR
  • Valid motor vehicle operator’s license which is not revoked or suspended
  • Must be twenty-one (21) years of age
  • Must meet and maintain minimum standards as set by department standard operating procedures
  • Previous experience with electronic patient care reporting

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Hazmat Awareness
  • 1 years prior experience full/part time EMT
  • EVOC with 1 year emergency driving experience

Senior Services Dial-a-Ride Driver

The Russell Mercier Senior Center in Hebron is seeking a part-time dial-a-ride driver providing senior and adult disabled transportation utilizing a car, 10 and 20 passenger handicapped accessible buses to the Senior Center and to various activities of daily living in town and the surrounding areas.  Driver must hold a valid Connecticut Driver License; CDL Class C preferred, Passenger Endorsement (Endorsement F) is required.  Dial-a-Ride service is typically available Monday through Friday.  Drivers are typically scheduled in accordance with transportation needs.  Starting rate $15.00 per hour with no benefits.  For additional information or an application please call the Senior Center at (860) 228-1700 x 203 or click here.  Please send applications/resumes to Andrew J. Parks & Recreation Department

Youth Basketball Building Supervisor and Score Keeper

The Town of Hebron Parks & Recreation Department is seeking part-time Building Supervisors to work on Saturdays and Sundays at both Hebron Elementary School and Gilead Hill School during our Youth Basketball Program beginning in December.  Building Supervisor duties will include- opening and closing the buildings, setting up gym chairs, bleachers, and scorers tables, keeping the games running on schedule, enforcing league and game rules, maintaining first aid supplies, overseeing proper use of gym areas, other duties as assigned. Flexible hours on Saturdays and Sundays. Rate of pay- $15.00- 16.00 per hour.

Score Keeper duties will include- officially operating score board equipment; keeping accurate game time and score, communicating with coaches and referees, assisting bookkeepers, other duties as assigned.  Rate of pay- $14.00

Hours:

Saturday: Gilead Hill School 7:00 a.m. – 3:15 p.m.;  Hebron Elementary School    7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Sunday:          Hebron Elementary School    1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Youth Basketball Referee Job Description

The Town of Hebron Parks & Recreation Department is seeking Youth Basketball level Referees to referee games on Saturdays and Sundays at both Hebron Elementary School and Gilead Hill School for our Youth Basketball Program.  The season will run from January through the beginning of March. Referees needed for multiple leagues ranging from 3rd -8th  grade.

Duties will include-

  • Officiating – knowledge of the rules and enforcement of sportsmanship and respect in the Youth Basketball Program.
  • Carrying yourself in a professional manner.
  • Positive interaction with the Building Supervisor, coaches, participants, and spectators.

QUALIFICATIONS-

We are looking for hard workers who are passionate and knowledgeable about the game of basketball.  Past referee experience preferred but not required.  Candidates must be personable, outgoing, reliable, and trustworthy.

Rate of pay:   $20.00- $35.00 per game.

PREP- Before and After School Childcare Worker

*Due to COVID-19: please note that this is an anticipated opening.

The Town of Hebron Parks & Recreation Department is seeking a PREP Before and After School Childcare Worker to act as a positive role model and provide guidance and leadership.  Under the direction of the Hebron Parks and Recreation Department’s Recreation Supervisor, the Before and After School staff is responsible for planning and implementing games and activities, serving snacks, and interacting with children grades Pre-K through 6th, and their families.  Hours are to include some mornings and or afternoons as well as early dismissal days and school vacation days.

PREP care hours are Monday through Friday:

AM Care- 6:45 a.m. – 8:30 a.m.

PM Care- 2:45 p.m. – 5 p.m.

PM Extended Care- 5:00 p.m. – 6 p.m.

The staff schedule is set by the Recreation Supervisor and is subject to change.  Applicants must be responsible and reliable, working independently as well as with a team and providing a safe, caring and enriching environment.
